Governance and Organization
  • Design and development of the best models of governance and organization to implement in RIs.
  • Analysis of ethical and legal issues that could influence governance and organization structures and the analysis of the multitude of stakeholders.
  • Analytical tools for RIs in order to achieve long-term goals
  • The complexity of the RI environment, decision-making and implementing the strategy process within the organisation.
Strategic Management of RIs
  • This module analyzes the complex and dynamic environment within which RIs operate; explore the main frameworks and tools for strategic thinking and planning.
Business Development and Innovation in RIs
  • This module fosters participants’ ability to drive and assess successful and sustainable innovation. Specific attention is given to the formulation of the business plan of the RIs.
Financial Management I
  • Cash flows, investments, assets and liabilities, costs and revenues, Cash and accrual accounting, The financial statement of Ris, Balancing the budget, Things to consider when working with an accounting firm.
Financial Management II
  • Risk management and internal control, Measuring the cost of activities, Pricing of services, Tax rules, Defining and evaluating performance indicators.
Leadership & Team Building
  • Managing people in multi-cultural and networked settings, Leading towards an 'etichal organisation', Reaching consensus, Fostering diversity throughout the organisation, Capacity building for nodes, Professional conduct
Developing a sustainable funding model for Ris
  • Advocacy and ambassoadorship, Modes of funding, Identifying and negotiating with potential funders, New funding tools (private-public partnerships, special projects, commercial funding, fee for service, consultancy)
  • Grants: how to buld a good proposal for funding.
Service Provision
  • Operations and process maangement, Running operations in networked settings, Understanding user needs and customer focus, User engaement and service design, Fostering a culture of service provision, Project management
Raising Awareness
  • Target communication to different groups, Identify relevant stakeholders such as: general public (patients, etc.), scientific community, the organisation (employees), policy makers and funding bodies

International Law & Compliance

Planning/Setting Up/Leading an Operational RI
  • This module provides case studies of RIs in different stages of their life cycle and helps participants to learn from successes and failures.
  • The module focuses on the broad relevant issues in the design and development of RIs and gives the opportunity to reflect on the application of managerial tools in real RI cases.
