Vision
The growing participation of public and private healthcare facilities in research activities requires the training of professionals who are experts in the design, planning, and conduct of epidemiological studies. This demand from the Italian and global labor market has been growing steadily for several decades.
The Master's program aims to train these professionals by combining theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the interdisciplinary field of the most current disciplines that characterize clinical research, such as pharmacoepidemiology. In particular, the Italian Medicines Agency emphasizes how a local healthcare system can greatly improve its ordinary care operations through the management and sharing of large amounts of data on individuals' health status.
Mission
The training program aims to explore classic and advanced topics in epidemiological and statistical methodology for clinical research aimed at identifying risk factors and causal factors for both infectious and chronic degenerative diseases, controlling and monitoring the health of the population, analyzing needs, supply, and demand, analyzing the implementation of social and health strategies, and and the process of continuous quality improvement.
At the end of the training course, participants in the Master's program will have developed the ability to produce and interpret the scientific, experimental, or observational evidence necessary for evaluating the effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of healthcare interventions and services.
Since many of the potential users of this training activity may already be working, the Master's program will be delivered entirely remotely, using the “virtual classroom” technological model.
Some lessons are taught in English only. The Master's program will be delivered entirely online, using the “virtual classroom” technology model.
